Tickets for the award winning Classic now on sale

With perfect timing for Christmas, tickets for The Classic 2022 are now on sale.

Maximising its exciting new date over the end-of-summer Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August), next year’s spectacular Silverstone festival will be the biggest and best yet – no mean feat for an event which has just been presented with Octane Magazine’s prized ‘Motorsport Event of the Year’ accolade at the prestigious Historic Motoring Awards for the 30th anniversary event in 2021.

The coveted award, voted on by a judging panel of international experts, not only confirms The Classic’s revered reputation as the world’s ultimate retro racing celebration but also the blockbuster’s ever-growing appeal as a not-to-be-missed family attraction. The switch to the popular August Bank Holiday weekend in 2022 will further fuel passions with a packed entertainment programme both on and off the famous international Grand Prix circuit.

The three-day timetable will provide ticket buyers with an expanded race programme on Sunday, more entertainment than ever before plus rousing live music concerts on Friday, Saturday and, for the very first time, Sunday evenings.

Revving up yet more festival fervour – and ensuring there’s never been a better time to spend the whole weekend at The Classic – there is also the welcome addition of the finest artisan produce and quintessential festival foods.

Allowing all those making the most of the extended holiday weekend – and simultaneously taking advantage of value-for-money three-day tickets (available from £125) – festival-goers can party into Sunday evening before a leisurely drive home on Monday (campers staying at the official campsite for the weekend at Silverstone Golf Club have the option to stay until midday on Monday).

“We are hugely honoured to have won the Motorsport Event of the Year and we couldn’t be more excited that next summer The Classic will be on pole position to build on this significant success,” enthused a delighted Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic promoter Goose Live Events. “The switch to the August Bank Holiday weekend is a real game-changer – we’ll be able to create an even more fabulous family festival with the very best of historic motorsport right at its heart.”

As ever The Classic’s unrivalled racecard will revive all of motor sport’s golden eras from the stunning Bentleys and Bugattis of the 1920s right up to superfast Aston Martin and Porsche prototypes from the start of this century. Much of Silverstone’s epic Formula One history will also be showcased on a packed-programme of crowd-pleasers which also includes massive 50+ car grids featuring all the greatest GT, sports and touring cars from yesteryear.

Adding to the high-octane spectacle, dazzling car club displays will also return to take centre stage with more than 10,000 privately owned – and lovingly cherished – classics on show for all to savour. As ever, key motoring milestones will also be marked with record-breaking track parades.

Ensuring a great turn-out, members of registered car clubs can take advantage of access to special packages via an exclusive booking code, with the very best prices and display areas reserved for owners of tax-exempt (pre-1982) classics.

Whether buying tickets for bespoke car club displays or a ticket for the perfect Christmas present (for yourself or a loved one), only a limited number of tickets are available at launch prices, so all those keen to take full advantage of the very best ticket prices are strongly advised to buy soon.

What’s more, all those buying on ticket launch day (Thursday 25 November) are automatically entered into a Golden Ticket draw to win some fabulous prizes which include weekend tickets to the 2022 Formula 1 British Grand Prix (1-3 July) and a Silverstone Single-Seater Driving Experience.

All tickets for The Classic 2022 will give access to both racing paddocks, open trackside grandstand seating, three nights of incredible live music and the vast majority of the fabulous family entertainment on offer which is being enhanced for 2022. There will also be an opportunity for all ticket purchasers to make a welcome donation to Alzheimer’s Research UK, The Classic’s official charity partner.
