We spoke to our Senior Event Manager, Carolyn, to explore how her and her team can support you from start to finish, ensuring you and your guests leave with life-long memories.
Tell us about your role at Silverstone
Well, I've been part of the Silverstone Family for about 11 years now, working my way through a few different departments, including Public Events, before landing here in the Corporate Events Team.
What I bring from my experience of coordinating club meetings and major events is a unique ability to blend the excitement of our tracks into business events, anything from film production to product launches.
Along with my team, we actively encourage our clients to make us think outside the box for every event we put together.
How does Silverstone collaborate with businesses and event planners to understand their event objectives?
Broadly, our Corporate Events delivery team and Sales team join forces to gain a deep understanding of the business goals and vision of a client's event right form the get-go. You get paired with a Sales Manager and an Events Manager to make sure the process is smooth, clear, and full of excitement.
Most of the time, a client has a strong idea of what they want or need, so we add value by making suggestions and exploring creative ways of creating their vision based on our experience.
How does Silverstone ensure clients' visions are translated from idea through to the day of the event?
We engage with the client right at the start, sharing insights and past experiences to guarantee informed decisions at every step.
Keeping the lines open for communication from the moment an Event Manager is assigned is crucial. For the events with a longer lead time, we'll often have monthly catch-up calls to run through the details and ensure continuous collaboration. This makes sure our clients always feel heard and supported throughout.
Can you tell us about the versatile and customisable spaces at Silverstone?
We're always up for a challenge at Silverstone, there's next to nothing that could surprise us!
Our 600-acre site offers endless options of multi-use spaces. The beauty of the International Conference and Exhibition Centre is its adaptability. It's a blank canvas that lets a client put their own stamp on it, while still giving delegates a genuine Silverstone experience. We're also able to combine different areas and spaces to meet specific client requirements. Our garages, for example, are really popular - perfect for private dinners and parties.
Can you give us an example of tailor-made activities at Silverstone?
Absolutely. We thrive on new and bespoke ideas! Last year we transformed the paddocks and garages into a corporate festival with a family feel. We had a stage with live music throughout the day, street food stands, mini golf, yoga and masseuses, soft play, balloon artists, a roaming photobooth and even an animal area - snakes, hedgehogs, tarantulas. That was something we hadn't seen before! When guests had finished the night with a dance, they could get a good night's sleep glamping in our yurts and bell tents. There are so many unique and wonderful ways to create memorable experiences here.
And finally, your key bit of advice for event planners and businesses considering Silverstone as their venue?
Be open to ideas and trust the proc ess. With our site capabilities and wealth of industry experience, you're in good hands. After sitting down with us to tell us your vision, don't hesitate to ask for advice and be willing to experiment with delviering your event to achieve those business goals.
