Australian Grand Prix returns as season opener
The fan-favorite Australian Grand Prix in Albert Park, Melbourne will reclaim its position as the season-opening event after recent years of Bahrain hosting Round 1. With Ramadan occurring throughout March 2025, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix have been moved to April to accommodate scheduling adjustments.
A more sustainable F1 calendar for 2025
Formula 1 has prioritized regionalization to reduce travel emissions and increase efficiency this year. Australia, China, and Japan will now form the opening trio of races, a shift that began in 2024 with Japan moving to an earlier slot.
