A guide to camping at Silverstone

Camping at Silverstone is part of what makes the British Grand Prix the huge success that it is. Having set new attendance records in 2023, dedicated Formula 1 fans continue to flock to the Silverstone circuit year after year, many of whom camp nearby.

Whilst high-speed motorsport remains the cornerstone of the event, there's something uniquely special about embracing the festival atmosphere and making a temporary home at one of the official camping areas within walking distance of the circuit. Plenty of Silverstone camping options to choose from

There's a choice of three official campsites for those wanting to camp near Silverstone. There's something for everyone in this offering; whether you prefer the classic charm of setting up your tent, the convenience of a motorhome, the comfort of a caravan, or the luxury of glamping, you'll find it in the official Silverstone camping line-up.

The exclusive Ridings glamping experience

Those looking for a premium camping experience may be interested in the Ridings glamping site. The Ridings is owned by Silverstone, ensuring the highest possible standards are enforced. Having been introduced for the 2022 British Grand Prix, the Ridings offers furnished tents, pamper tents and shuttle services amongst other amenities, providing a luxurious camping experience like no other. In 2024 two new luxury Bedouin tent types were introduced.

The Golf Club

The Golf Club campsite caters for those who want to be at the heart of the action, with a large tent reserved for entertainment in the evenings and a buzzing atmosphere. It also offers a range of pitches, accommodating anything from family tents to live-in RVs.

Cartmel Fields

Cartmel Fields is a quieter campsite than the Golf Club, but still boasts live evening entertainment and a bar. Choices range from three, four or five-night stays. Located just 10 minutes walking distance from Silverstone’s main gate, with a convenient footbridge to take you over Dadford Road and into the circuit.

Arden Paddocks Campsite

New for 2025, the Arden Paddocks Campsite can be found right on the Dadford Road, just 10 minutes from the gates of the circuit. You can turbocharge your British Grand Prix weekend with options for three, four or five nights.

World-Class camping facilities

All three of the official Silverstone campsites offer outstanding facilities and services. Those include an on-site shop, restaurants and bars, free Wi-Fi in and live sports often shown around the Clubhouse. Then there are the campsite staples like drinking water stations, charging points, electrical hook-ups, pot wash facilities and a range of pitch sizes.

Hit the track without the traffic

Race-day traffic is one of the unavoidable inevitabilities of attending a Grand Prix, but what if it didn’t have to be? By basing yourself at one of the official Silverstone campsites, you can circumvent hours of unnecessary queueing. You won’t be in a rush to leave straight after the chequered flag so you can soak up all that unparalleled race day atmosphere, then head back to your pitch at a leisurely pace.
