Terry Grant performing a stunt at The Classic

Record-breaking off-track crowd-pleasers back for The Classic

The headline-grabbing ‘Greatest Hits’ celebrations to mark The Classic’s milestone 30thbirthday not only features the event’s best-ever programme of retro races but also now the return of two established off-track crowd-pleasers in the popular ‘Shift and Drift Zone’.

Ace stunt driving supremo Terry Grant will be back to wow on-lookers with his spectacular rubber-burning displays and, when the tyre-smoke abates, he will be sharing the stage with the much-loved iconic rally cars of Slowly Sideways UK.

The fearless Grant keeps racking up the world records – a jaw-dropping list which includes the most donuts in 100 seconds, the highest loop-the-loop in a car and the furthest barrel roll jump.

The daredevil’s latest crazy achievements – the fastest mile in a car on two wheels and the most people in a car on two wheels – came aboard a 575bhp Range Rover Sport SVR. And both are endorsed by Guinness World Records.

Grant will be bringing the extraordinary record-breaking Range Rover to Silverstone for his twice daily displays at The Classic (30 July – 1 August) and is promising further eye-catching exploits on two wheels.

Rally cars are always a popular addition to the fun-fuelled showcase and, once again, Slowly Sideways has come up trumps with some true forest legends from the sport’s golden eras.

The 2021 line-up includes a number of beasts from the epic Group B era as well as a plethora of Subaru Imprezas from the golden years when British heroes Colin McRae and Richard Burns ruled the rally world. These champions will be on static display for visitors to savour throughout the three-day event and then revving up twice each day for awesome demo runs.

“The Shift and Drift Zone has become a major attraction for fans of all ages at The Classic and we are delighted that both Terry Grant and Slowly Sideways are back with us this summer,” enthused Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic’s promoter Goose Live Events. “Everyone loves to see and smell burning rubber and these guys never disappoint.”
