MotoGP Will Kick Off Silverstone’s Trifecta of Major Events in 2025
04 August 2024In an exciting development, 2025 will see MotoGP return to the home of British Motorsport in May, rather than its usual early August slot.

One of the key race weekends in Silverstone’s summer calendar, the British round of MotoGP sits alongside Silverstone Festival and, of course, the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, as one of the three major large-scale events hosted at the circuit each year.
With more than 700,000 in attendance across MotoGP, Formula 1 and Silverstone Festival in 2023, it’s clear to see that fans love the racing, the atmosphere and the entertainment to be found at these headliner events in the calendar.

2025 British Grand Prix MotoGP date announced
In a decision that will surely delight lovers of two-wheeled racing in the UK, it will only be nine months until fans and riders alike next return to Northamptonshire to enjoy some of the fastest and liveliest action on the MotoGP calendar over the weekend of 23-25 May 2025.
“It’s a fabulous venue and the racing here is always fantastic,” said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports. “We’re really happy to be able to confirm when we’ll be returning to Silverstone next season, and to celebrate the British GP at a different time of year.”
Stuart Pringle, Chief Executive Officer at Silverstone, said: “Our fans won’t have to wait so long for their next British GP fix and we’re already working on putting together another great weekend of MotoGP action, live music, jaw-dropping stunt shows and much more.”
In May 2025, MotoGP will be the first of these major events to bring fans swarming to the circuit to enjoy epic performances both on track and on the Main Stage.
